Strategic Dreaming
It's time to conjure the futures we want in the present. It's time to dream as a strategy of freedom. This is what bravery looks like outside the colonial logic.
I wanted to take a minute and let folks know what has been going on with me and where I am going with my my creative work.
The last couple of months have been intense to say the least. We are all witnessing ongoing state violence at its extremes across the globe, alongside infrastructure breakdowns and political chaos.
And it ain't goin to slow done because the energy of change is here and with it comes its companion of chaos.
This is an energy of breaking. Of breaking things down to their foundations, and then cracking that open to see what is really going on as a way to uncover what one is really working with.
So what foundations of your reality have been cracking for you?
For me, I am in the middle of a bunch of astrological transits that are forcing me do things differently - especially when it comes to my home, work, and way I show up in the world. (I mean I guess that is my whole life. LOL).
Here is the rundown of what those longer transits are:
Uranus opposition (1st-7th house)
Transit Pluto in Aquarius conjunct my South Node in the 4th house and opposite my North Node in the 10th house
Transit South Node in Libra conjunct my natal Saturn, Jupiter AND Venus in the 12th house.
What does all of that mean - a bitch is tired and can't do things the way I use to. I mean I can, but honestly it is not really working out for me anymore.
So this got me contemplating what I actually want to do and create, and how that impacts how I show up both in my private and public life.
This is the dreaming phase of breaking that HAS to happen so that new paths/roads/possibilities can begin to emerge and provide different templates on what it means to live and have life. Or in other words, dreaming is a strategy we must deploy in the present as part of the "work" of liberation.
Strategic dreaming is the ability to believe the reality (realities) you are currently living in and embody those realizations so that space is made for you to imagine something(s) else. Taking back the body allows you to take back your rest and time - the things stolen from all of us - so the dreamscapes can be accessed.
It is up to us to bring those dreams that sit outside of labor, violence, and destruction into reality.
This is what bravery looks like outside the colonial framing.
