Time To Face The Patriarchy: Sun-Uranus Cazimi in Taurus
This week on "Yappin w/ the Stars" I discuss Saturn being at the last degree of Pisces alongside a Sun-Uranus Cazimi that is shaking up foundations, namely the patriarchy. Lets get into it!
Weekly Astrological Forecast: May 14-20, 2023
This week marks a major cosmic shift with Saturn at the critical 29th degree of Pisces, signaling the end of a long cycle. We’re being asked to reflect on what we’ve learned in the past 2 ½ years, as well as the larger 28 ½ year cycle Saturn has completed in the zodiac. As Saturn transitions out of Pisces and prepares to enter Aries next week, we are called to let go of what no longer serves us and step into a new way of being.
Jupiter, currently in Gemini, forms a sextile with Chiron, the wounded healer in Aries, pushing us to examine the philosophies and strategies that will bring us healing, especially around our sense of self and how we relate to others. The tension between tradition and reinvention is palpable this week, and we are asked to reflect on where we place our faith and whether the structures that have historically given us security are truly stable.
On May 17, the Sun conjuncts Uranus in Taurus (Cazimi), shaking up our deeply rooted beliefs and systems. Mars in Leo squares Mercury in Taurus and trines Venus in Aries, pushing us to reassess our relationships with authority and examine how we can reclaim our personal power.
By May 20, as the Sun reaches 29 degrees Taurus, we’re reminded of the power dynamics at play in society. Who is making the next move? As the tension between security and transformation continues, we must examine how we can make space for new possibilities while staying rooted in our truth.
Astrology Testimony: Personal Reflections on the Full Moon in Scorpio
In this week’s testimony, I share my experience with the Full Moon in Scorpio, which illuminated deep personal shifts. As a Scorpio rising with Uranus and Lilith conjunct my Ascendant, I’ve been feeling feral and brand new—experiencing a profound shake-up in my personal relationships and understanding of self. This transit has pushed me to pivot my business into more creative ventures, lean into my femme identity, and finally embrace the importance of pleasure in my life.
I’m also experiencing the Uranus opposition in my 1st and 7th houses, which has led me to reassess my relationship with both myself and others. With Uranus pushing me to break down old structures, I’ve had to question everything I once thought was stable and reimagine what security, pleasure, and safety truly mean.
Yappin' Time: Reexamining Our Relationship with Patriarchy
Healing is not linear. This week, I’m reflecting on the tension between transformation (Scorpio) and stability (Taurus). As we confront our personal and societal wounds, we must ask: Who is defining the monsters that knock at our door? This is a time of excavation—where we uncover the roots of our discomfort and reimagine new ways of being.
We must also confront the patriarchy, which has shaped how we view authority, safety, and power. What if we stopped longing for recognition from institutions that have always been exclusionary? What if we began to see that our power has always been within us, waiting to be reclaimed?
